JOB TITLE: Senior Scientist, Associate Director or Director, Cancer Research

LOCATION: Palo Alto, CA

We seek research scientists at different levels of experience with a track record of productivity and success in cancer drug discovery and a solid understanding of cancer drug development. The scientists will drive preclinical drug discovery and diagnostic test development, establish and maintain external research collaborations and support clinical trial establishment and execution. The successful candidates will have a passion for research, excellent oral and written communication skills, can effectively work in multifunctional teams, and effectively and independently write research reports and publications.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and perform molecular and cell biology experiments, analyze data and write study reports and publications

  • Research of tumor biomarkers, mechanism of action of new anti-cancer products and exploration of new indications or drug combinations

  • Establish external research collaborations

  • Review of public information from conferences, literature and other sources, presentation of review to internal audiences and proposal of internal research and new targets for cancer therapy

  • Research support to clinical trials as a member of the clinical team

TO BE THE RIGHT FIT, THIS CANDIDATE:

  • A PhD or MD degree and the required experience in cancer research and drug discovery   

  • A track record of productivity and success in cancer research

  • Expertise of molecular biology, cell biology and immunology technologies

  • Knowledge of bioinformatics and creation / application of AI tools is a plus

  • Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills

  • A “can-do” start mentality of a self-motivated scientist with attention to detail and ability to think independently
